Our UCAS codes are 25R (Birmingham and Solihull placements) and 2KO (Warwickshire placements)
All applicants should hold a GCSE grade C (or equivalent) in English, Mathematics and a Science subject. If you do not currently hold all required GCSE or would like to retake them, you can find some information on how to do it here.
You should also hold an Undergraduate degree of a UK Higher Education Institution or equivalent.
Applicants will be required to present original copies of any award certificates demonstrating the above at the Interview Stage.

We are looking for candidates who not only meet the minimum entry requirements but who can also demonstrate suitability for teaching.
We are looking for applicants with the following skills, qualities and experience:
A commitment to teaching and learning, particularly with reference to the Early Years
Understanding of children as learners
A clear educational philosophy
Understanding of educational issues
Recent experience of working with children or young people in an early years setting
A satisfactory standard of written and spoken English
Ability to use ICT
Ability to establish effective working relationships
Ability to take responsibility for their own professional development
Understanding of the demands of this school-based route into teaching
Prospective students will need to apply initially through the UCAS system. Once you have submitted your UCAS application there are a number of stages to the process which are outlined below.
Once submitted through the UCAS system, your application will be reviewed by the CREC Early Years Partnership (CEYP). Your suitability to teach will then be assessed by the following methods:
Criminal Records Check (DBS)
Physical Health Check
As per the DfE announcement on Monday 15th July 2019, applicants will not be required to undertake the Professional Skills Tests prior to starting the course. However, should your application be successful, trainee teachers will still be required to demonstrate appropriate numeracy and literacy skills during the course of their training year.
To apply for Early Years Teacher Training with the CREC Early Years Partnership, you will be required to apply via the UCAS page (applications for September 2020 will open in October 2019).
UCAS Application Guidance
In order to apply for the Early Years Initial Teacher Training through the CREC Early Years Partnership, you will first need to register with UCAS.
Ensure that you register for the "UCAS Teacher Training" option (as there are various application pathways).
Fill in the required details, and once you are able to, click the "Choices" option on the menu on the left of the page.
To add the CREC Early Years Partnership as one of your choices, follow the steps below:
Next to "Training Provider Code" click the search button and search for "St Thomas Centre Nursery" (note the lack of a full-stop after "St")
Select: St Thomas Centre Nursery, Bell Barn Road, B15 2AF. In the "Training Provider Code" you should now see the code "25R"
Click "See List" next to "Training Programme". There should only be one option available; "Early Years (2MZV)" - select this
Click "See list" next to training location/ campus code. Select your preferred location. Please note that "Main Site" refers to Birmingham schools
Ensure that "Non-Modular" and "Full-Time" are selected in the next two boxes (Please note that part-time and modular options are not available for this course, so please do not select these options)
You can leave the section "Main Subject or Subjects" blank
Ensure all other requested information is completed accurately
